Fairchild International Adds Diesel Tractor to Permissible Diesel-Powered Workhorse Series Scoop Line


Glen Lyn, VA, August 4, 2009 — Fairchild International, a U.S.-based manufacturer of underground mining equipment, is now producing the 35C-WHPDT, Workhorse Permissible Diesel Tractor. This rubber tired, permissible diesel-powered vehicle is the latest addition to the Fairchild series of proven permissible and non-permissible diesel-powered underground scoops. The rugged diesel tractor with featured fifth wheel hitch located as specified by customer gives underground mines a complete system that transports materials, supplies and equipment through the toughest conditions faster, and more efficiently. This unit is ideally suited for use in slope graded mines and minimum seam heights of 6 feet. Fairchild’s latest Workhorse Permissible Diesel-Powered Tractor features exceptional design characteristics throughout the machine including a 140 cubic foot capacity center eject bucket with optional bucket size available, 44 inch tires and John Deere 1400 series inboard planetary axles with internal wet disc service brakes and hydraulically controlled differential lock. The Fairchild Model 35C-WHPDT Tractor meets all MSHA inby requirements. The power unit includes a MSHA approved Cummins C8.3, 150 HP engine with DST dry scrubber package to provide exhaust treatment and a Dana / Clark powershift transmission assembly with four speeds forward and reverse. The 35C-WHPDT Tractors ground clearance ranges from 12 to 14 inches.
