Fairchild International Adds AC Drive Techonology to Dual Tram Workhorse Scoop Line
Glen Lyn, VA, August 4, 2009 — Fairchild International, a U.S.-based manufacturer of underground mining equipment, is now producing the 35C-WH2-30-AC, AC Drive, Workhorse Dual Tram Scoop. This battery-powered vehicle is the latest addition to Fairchild’s series of dual tram scoops and shield haulers. The AC Drive provides increased battery life cycles and reduced motor maintenance costs. This unit is ideally suited for use in slope graded mines and minimum seam heights of 6 feet. Fairchild’s latest Dual Tram Workhorse Scoop features a 180 cubic feet capacity, center eject bucket, 44 to 48 inch tires, Reliance 25 hp at 1,800 rmp, pump motor, dual Reliance 75 hp at variable rpm, tram motors and gear reducers. The vehicle’s heavy duty steel frame is 30 inches high and designed to withstand the harshest conditions. Other attributes that enhance the vehicle include larger battery capacity, ball bearing center section, expanded operator’s compartment with door assembly, adjustable canopy with back protection, proven heavy-duty ground-based battery changing system and John Deere inboard planetary axles with wet disc service brakes. The 35C-WH2-30-AC Dual Tram Scoop’s ground clearance ranges from 13.5 to 17.5 inches.
